Rachel Scheer, account executive, began her career on the journalism side of media. Before joining the Conran team she was an Assistant Editor at National Geographic Adventure. During her tenure there she wrote pieces for the magazine’s front of the book, fact checked features, edited pages and developed a bevy of editorial contacts ranging from other magazine editors to freelancers. Prior to that, Rachel spent a year with National Geographic Society in Washington D.C. where she provided editorial, photo and administrative support for various Society entities, including National Geographic Magazine, National Geographic Kids and the Explorers Hall Museum. She also has a strong interest in the arts and in 2004 worked as an events assistant at P.S.1/MoMA Contemporary Art Center’s Warm Up series. She is a graduate of Penn State, where she earned a B.A. with honors and distinction in Geography. In her spare time, Rachel loves to travel and her wanderlust has taken her throughout Europe, Central America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Her most recent expedition was a kayaking trip off the coast of Croatia.
Rachel’s Giving Back efforts include being a volunteer at the Mercantile Library Center of Fiction, an organization that promotes the reading, writing, and enjoyment of literature.
